Detailed Needs analysis 

Before starting for program, we'll conduct a free consultation to get some initial background, followed by a detailed need analysis of the sport and initial assessment of your current level.

Expert Coaching sessions  

All of our coaches are highly qualified and experienced S&C coaches, with specialisms including injury rehab, speed, conditioning and training strength and explosiveness. 

Elite level programming

Our programs are designed specifically for you, based on a combination of a detailed needs analysis and initial assessment, so you know that if you put in the work, you'll see results. 


What is strength and conditioning? 

It seems like everyone talks about “Strength and Conditioning (AKA S&C)”, but what’s the difference between true S & C and most training types, like fitness classes or gym work?

Simply put, S&C is an scientifically supported approach to your training to ensure you perform at your best . A key focus when it comes to strength and conditioning is something called the SAID principle- Specific Adaptation to Imposed Demands (S. A. I. D). This means that we adapt in a highly specific manner to the stimulus we create. That’s why simply “exercising” isn’t enough to perform at your best. You need to train. More specifically, you need to work on your specific strength and conditioning.

To build an initial framework in S&C, we conduct what’s called a needs analysis. This is the starting point of all of your programs, where we look at the specific demands of your sport, and your current attributes, and work out a training program to fill the gaps, boost the strengths, and ultimately, take you to new levels.

Important to note, this is NEVER achieved by just training harder without the right plan. 

Here at FX, we go one step further, by ensuring that daily habits and lifestyle practices support your adaptations, and are working with you to achieve your goal, not against you. This means basic nutrition, recovery and sleep hygiene is discussed to help you to achieve your goals.

MEET YOUR COACH

Our Performance team is led by Josh Kennedy MSc, ASCC. Josh has over 15 years of experience working in the industry, helping all levels of athletes- from developing to professional, novice to elite- to level up their performance. Josh has a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science and an MSc in Strength and Conditioning, as well as being a UKSCA accredited S&C Coach since 2016.

Josh has various qualifications, with advanced diplomas and CPD in the areas of weightlifting, powerlifting, speed development, performance nutrition, conditioning and endurance development, Stress and wellness management, mental health considerations and more.

Josh works with our specialist team of S&C Coaches and sports therapists to ensure a fully integrated performance management solution.

Although each S&C plan meets customised needs, most include:  

  • Weekly strength sessions (1-3x per week) with our expert S&C coaches
  • Access to our online education and community platform 
  • A dedicated coach to review your check ins, and help you get the best possible results 
  • Full body composition analysis and performance needs analysis 
  • Detailed programming and regular reviews
  • Off peak gym use (available to use 8am-5pm Monday- Friday, 7-1 Saturday) 
  • Additional specific conditioning sessions to build your capacity (optional) 
  • Individualised Performance nutrition, including Calorie/ macro targets and competition planning
